West Lafayette - John L. 'Jack' Miller, age 90, life resident of Lafayette/West Lafayette, died at 12:45 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 in St. Elizabeth Central Hospital. He was born in Lafayette, January 24, 1923 son of the late Roscoe L. and Grace Meyers Miller. He was married to Catherine 'Cathy' Flora in 1967, she preceded him in death November 19, 2008.

Jack graduated from West Lafayette High School and joined the US Army in 1944. He served in the Pacific Theater during WW II with the 37th Division. He earned a BS in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. He spent his career as a Mechanical Engineer with Brown Rubber designing production machinery.

Jack was a very talented craftsman, designing and building three homes on Newman Road, which he and his wife occupied following their completion. He enjoyed aviation, was a private pilot and owned his own airplane. He formerly was a member of the Purdue Glider Club. Jack would always let you know what was on his mind, whether you wanted to know or not! He was a 'Rascal'!
